Toyota Estima hybrid.

That’s one weird looking BMW.

It’s like a Chinese knock off of a Toyota Sienna.

It looks like they continued building the old Previa, but gave it some ‘cool’ tail lights.
Also, your FTO must be oppo s most partially photographed car, haha

Yes, two things rarely seen!

They did! The Previa was the Estima in other markets. Though the 2nd gen dropped the fancy MR drive configuration, for a Camry-based FF layout.

Ah that explains it! You learn something every day!
That fact I did know, as we also got the 2nd gen in Europe (not that it sold very well, I can’t remember ever seeing one)

Yeah, but this thing is not even close to the original one... FF layout for starters.

May well be, but I’m in a Sienna free zone...

Was this ever officially sold in the EDM? I know there were small groups campaigning in the U.S. about a decade ago for Toyota to bring this (as a hybrid minivan) stateside but they dragged their feet and so we have the Pacifica Plug-In instead. Y’all wouldn’t have had this issue since you have no import laws, so it could very well be JDM (or at least ASEAN).

It’s a Japanese import. They (not the Estima, Japanese imports in general) were popular here at one time. Not any more, as anything first registered after June 2008 is subject to punitive taxation unless it has an EU CO2 emissions figure.
